Happy New Year!! 2025
It’s been a busy holiday season for us personally and professionally hosting. Winter hosting in the Colorado Rockies is no easy task! Luckily, we have had little issues and our boots-on-the-ground staff is wonderful.
What’s new in Alma?!
Alma has a new business in town! Black Kettle Coffee Company, they have become a staple already and a natural hit with the Bakery across the street. It brings me so much joy to see our little old mining town get new life!!! I have not been to sample myself yet though the reviews are speaking for themselves so far. My good friend Jade from @ColoradoMountainTowns stopped by on my recommendation when she hosted her Decemeber Girls Trip at the Haus. She reported they we kind, cute, and the coffee was good with homemade syrup flavorings saving their patrons from nasty preservatives and fresh ingredients! Who doesn’t love that?!
What's new with Haute Haus & Skiers Right Lodge?
Haute Haus has a new amenity for the winter (see photos above)!!! In early December we partnered with Timber Sauna Co. to fabricate a custom nordic sauna for us. So far it has been a delight with our guests. I personally cannot wait to try it out. I recently did some spa retreats for myself and research of course, but it produced some great ideas that I plan to implement to make our Haute Haus sauna experience even better!
Skiers Right Lodge, our original cabin is getting the attention she deserves! We just had the whole place repainted with fresh bright interior paint. I don’t think she’s been repainted since she was built in the 90’s so it’s really nice to brighten the space up. By March we are hoping to have our final furniture delivery happen to upgrade the furniture we inherited and make the place feel more like us and less like someone’s second hand cabin. She has served us so well and I’m personally really excited to give it the proper attention it deserves! Some first looks at the recent updates are above.
What’s new with us?
It seems as though our life has not slowed down since October. In October we went to Greece for our 5th wedding anniversary, in November we went to Spain to meet Darin’s Family for Thanksgiving, for Christmas we hosted my parents and our cabin partner, Shaun, at our home here in Northern England (some recent pictures to go along below). It’s crazy to think we are halfway through our UK work visas already. As much as I love living here in England I miss Alma, CO so much!!! Of course family too but we are fortunate to have family travel with or to us so we see them often. I guess thats it for now!
